Facebook and WordPress
When WordPress first started in 2001, it was used primarily for blogging. Slowly, it became a full blown website platform used by both individuals and businesses alike. It is now coming full circle with large businesses and corporations like Facebook, CNN, Target, and NASA using WordPress not just as their website, but as their blog, as well.
Currently, WordPress is used to power over 15% of the world’s one million largest websites and 22 out of every 100 new, active domains in the US are running WordPress, according to WordPress.org.
Now, more businesses run their website on WordPress than any other content management system.
